The House of Bourbon-Bonaparte is an Earth noble, royal, and imperial family that came about in the early 22nd century after the House of Bonaparte and the House of Bourbon merged through intermarriage. The Bonaparte family had been founded in 1804 and claimed the title Emperor of the French, having ruled in France from 1804 to 1815 and again from 1852 to 1870. The House of Bourbon had been Kings of France from 1580 to 1793 and 1815 to 1848, and had been the inheritors of the medieval House of Valois and the House of Capet. The French Federation monarchy established in 2131 was vested in the united House of Bourbon-Bonaparte and lasted as a sovereign nation until 2347. Thereafter, the head of the Bourbon-Bonaparte family held the title Emperor and King of France as a peerage in the Earth State, and later in the Terran peerage; this peer also hereditarily held the office of Lord High Constable in the Terran Imperial court. A collateral line holds the title King of Westphalia.
